Next step in guitar lessons?
My parents signed me up for guitar lessons for my birthday: i got a set of 8 and tomorrow is my last one before I move.
So far i know basic open chords (though i knew these before i started lessons) A based and E based barre chords, Power chords, Major and minor scales, and Major and Minor pentatonic scales
for my last lesson, my teacher said i should pick whatever i want to learn and he’ll teach it to me. What’s the next logical step of learning guitar after the chords and scales i have learned? What should i request to learn? Thank you
Try to memorize the note names fret for fret all the way up the neck. It helps a lot especially if you are going to start performing in a band or group. It makes communication between guitar and bass players alike much easier than saying repeatedly “No, no go one more fret up.” while trying to write something.
